As a young child, I was instinctively drawn to animals and quickly knew that I had to spend my life helping and caring for them. My cats that I had growing up were always my best friends and those connections meant everything to me. There was no other path for me than to be alongside helping animals in some capacity. By the time I was 10 years old, I had Veterinarian at the top of my list for what I wanted to be when I grew up, and am thankful every day that I achieved that childhood goal. I am passionate about the medical, physical, and emotional needs of animals and this extends to the relationship and bonds that are formed between an animal and their personal guardian. My daily motivation in this incredibly rewarding profession stems from this deep-seated passion and an insatiable drive to continue to learn and improve my abilities to care for animals. As a veterinarian and a practice owner, I am invested in fostering a like-minded team who are committed to performing their jobs with respect, kindness and high-level medical care with priority given to a low-stress environment for all patients. I am truly grateful to work every single day with the sole intention of making a difference in the lives of our beloved animal companions.
Originally from Halifax, NS, I obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from The Atlantic Veterinary College on PEI in 2015. We moved back to the city I love and have practiced in the HRM from the time of graduation. My special interests in general practice include internal medicine, feline medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. My husband and I have three beautiful children, a Golden Retriever named Aspen and a domestic longhair cat named Herbie.
